APF 2018

For our first visit to the APF, the 2018 show was memorable for so many reasons.

On the build-up day the site APF site was subjected to extremely strong winds and heavy rain which was the tail end of a hurricane earlier in the week out in the Atlantic. With us having to build the Pfanner tent from scratch in one day this was going to be problematic. Our 2nd hurdle was that the tent didn't arrive! Therefore with some great help from Jock at John Deere on the stand facing us, we were able to source a company locally that could build a marquee in the afternoon. Our team back at base were also under pressure after our warehouse was hit by lightning meaning issues with the power an alarms.

Day 1 was a very wet day, but with most people in the industry being used to working outdoors, the weather did not detract from the event. There were good numbers of visitors and plenty of interest in our stand. Day 2 was a better day weather wise and this ensured the flow of customers continued. We spent some time on our dealer's stands and enjoyed helping to sell products and give advice on the brands.

New Product Launches

At the APF we were launching the much anticipated BT-COM from Protos - enabling safe communication between 4 team members.

We were also showcasign d3 Tape from New Zealand for the first time at a show, after recently being appointed as their distributor to target the industrial athletes in the UK. A big thanks to Mark from d3 for supporting us during the show and providing visitors with a free goodie bag.

Demonstrations

Throughout the show we demonstrated how safe the Protos Integral helmets are by utilising our Protos Simulator drop test. This has also affectionately been named the cabbage smasher. The aim of the demonstration is to illustrate the importance of wearing good quality head protection and also to show how the Protos has been engineered to protect significantly beyond the test standards. The majority of observers were amazed at the impacts that the Protos could take.

The BT-Com 4 user Bluetooth communicaiton system was also available for demonstration and visitors could test them out while on our stand and getting their colleauges to order some more beers or food at the various outlets.
