Outdoor Trade Show 2018 - Event City, Manchester
Our first vist to the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) was a great experience, at an excellent venue. As a young business, Outwear needs to ensure that our investments at exhibitions are effective. We decided that OTS was a key event on the calendar that would be the perfect platform to re-launch Woolpower to the outdoor market in the UK.
Showcasing Woolpower to the UK's Outdoor retailers is important for us. Woolpower is one of the best kept secrets in the outdoor market. The products are high performing merino base layers, mid layers, socks and accessories. The merino wool, construction technique and 100% manufacturing in Sweden produces a unique product that outperforms other brands in terms of insulation.
During the OTS we enjoyed spending some good time with our neighbouring exhibitors, learning about their businesses and sharing in their successes during the event. In particular we were impressed by Yugen Explore, D3 Tape, GP Batteries and Firepot. A highlight after the first day was a display above the venue from The Red Devils, the official parachute display team of the British Army and The Parachute Regiment.
Woolpower used to be distributed in the UK previously, but when distribution stopped, supply reduced and the focus turned to growth in other countries, the UK customers were left with a small number of specialist stockists. Gradually awareness of the brand has reduced, but for those that know about it, there is a very loyal fan base.
Re-invigorating interest and awareness of the brand will take a little time. For retailers that come on board early we believe there is a great opportunity to join us as the brand grows. With exciting ideas for the future and a shift in consumers to look for better quality, more responsibly produced clothing, now is the time to be #woolpowered.
