Protos and Honda Endurance Racing Team
Outwear were delighted to support the Honda Endurance Racing Team with their Pit Crew helmet for the Le Mans 24 hour race this year.
The race was one of the most exciting and closely faught endurace racing events in history. With around 24 pit stops during the race it gave us plenty of opportunity to keep an eye out for our Protos Integral helmets. Despite leading the race early, some technical issues meant that the team had to fight back from 11th. In the final hours the Honda team were competing for the lead but due to having to make one final very fast pit stop for some fuel, they finished a fantastic 2nd place overall.
Some of the Protos Integral helmets being used by the Pit Crew are shown in this post and further images can also be found on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you look closely you will see the Outwear logo on the back left of the helmet.
We wish the Honda Endurance Racing Team success for the rest of the season and also to hear how they get on testing the BT-Coms to enhance their communication among the Pit Crew, with the aim of improving their times at pit stops.
